Electromagnetic flowmeters have many excellent properties and have been widely used in metallurgy, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, agriculture and home. When using an electromagnetic flowmeter to extend its service life, it must first be properly selected and properly installed and used to achieve reliable and highly accurate measurements.
1.1 Selection of flow meter type
Electromagnetic flowmeters are divided into two types, split type and integrated type. The basic principle for selecting the split type or integral type is: when the flow meter is used under complex environmental conditions (such as in high-temperature fluids, explosive gas and places where there are severe vibrations and places where water may be submerged, etc.), separate type structures should be used. . An integrated electromagnetic flowmeter can be used under generally good environmental conditions.
1.2 According to the measurement fluid selection
Electromagnetic flowmeters can only be used to measure conductive liquids and cannot measure non-conductive fluids such as gases, oils, and organic chemicals. For fluids with a conductivity of 5µS/cm or higher, simply select the general type of instrument. For fluids with conductivity of 0.01µS/cm or higher, containing solid particles and fibrous slurry fluid, capacitive electromagnetic flowmeters can be used.
1.3 Select the flow meter according to use
Electromagnetic flowmeters are divided into submersible, explosion-proof, sanitary, high-pressure, and general types depending on the application. Submersible type is generally used for open channel flow measurement; explosion-proof type is used for potentially explosive gas environment, such as often used in coal mines, chemical industry, oil fields and other environments; sanitary type is characterized by easy disassembly and disinfection, and can be installed quickly. Food and pharmaceutical sectors; high-pressure type for drilling fluid circulation mud, cementing cement slurry, hydrochloric acid for fracturing and acidizing process, high-pressure water injection for oil production process, and measurement and control of liquid flow; general types are used for general purposes other than the above.
