Slurry Electromagnetic Flow Meter

Keep Abrasive Slurry Moving Through an Open Bore Slurry Electromagnetic Flow Meter is designed for mineral slurry, tailings, pulp stock, dredging mixtures and other conductive liquids containing solids. Abrasive particles can destroy moving parts, coat electrodes or wear an unsuitable liner, while settling at low velocity makes readings unstable. The obstruction-free magnetic measuring tube reduces pressure loss and eliminates a rotor from the slurry path, supporting continuous process control and pump monitoring. Select Liners and Electrodes for Wear Based on Faraday induction, the magnetic flow meter measures the voltage created as a conductive liquid moves through a magnetic field. With no rotor or obstruction in the bore, it introduces virtually no additional pressure loss and avoids the wear mechanisms found in mechanical meters. Gallop lists accuracy up to ±0.5 percent for the core electromagnetic series, conductivity from 5 µS/cm, integral and remote structures, and a wide selection of liners and electrodes. PTFE, PFA, rubber or polyurethane linings can be paired with 316L, Hastelloy, titanium or tantalum electrodes according to chemical and abrasion needs. Polyurethane or rubber linings may suit abrasive duties, while electrode style and material should be selected around coating and chemistry. This page can naturally support buyer terms such as magnetic flow meter, conductive liquid measurement, no pressure loss, 4-20 mA flow transmitter and industrial flow totalizer. Control Velocity, Grounding and Empty-Pipe Risk Provide solids concentration, particle size, conductivity, minimum and maximum velocity, pipe orientation and cleaning practice; keep the pipe full and maintain enough velocity to limit settling without accelerating wear. Request remote electronics for flooded or vibrating locations, empty-pipe diagnostics where available, and the analog or digital signal needed for density or mass-balance calculations. Magnetic meters require a sufficiently conductive, completely filled pipe and proper grounding. Entrained air, empty-pipe conditions, coating electrodes and an incorrect liner or electrode choice can undermine an otherwise strong measurement. Gallop has focused on flow and level instrumentation since 2005 and presents in-house R&D, ISO 9001:2015 and CE evidence.
